The origin of SASAWASHI is socks.
Our main business was originally in textiles where we developed Sasa-Washi for more than 20 years. The first SASAWASHI products we made with the yarn were five-toed socks and ribbed socks. With painstaking research, we were surprised at how smooth and comfortable they felt, completely different from cotton socks.
Through trial and error and by word of mouth, our reputation led to a full-fledged effort to produce SASAWASHI, which has continued to this day. It is no exaggeration to say that the reason why we have SASAWASHI today is because our socks have been accepted by our many satisfied customers.

About our Ribbed Short Socks
These socks are roughly ribbed, using thick SASAWASHI yarn, and have a nice crispy feel typical of SASAWASHI. The color scheme is casual, with the addition of red, a color that has never been seen before in SASAWASHI socks. The socks can be worn with sneakers, of course, but some of our customers have said that they would like to wear these socks with sandals.
